That tool thing we have ain't no joke!

So I'm going on 7 months and each month gets easier. I can eat a little more and try new things within reason. I've had a couple of foamie episodes but that was a while ago.

So last night we are BBQing rib eye steak. Husband calls and says to pick up an onion at the latino market on the way home. So I stop there and what do I see? Those little mexican bread piggy cookies that I LOVED pre surgery. So what so I do? I buy 3...one for each of us. I figure I can eat half one day and half another. Wow, was I wrong. I ate my half about an hour after dinner, slowly. Thinking that would do the trick. And if anyone every had one...they are not sweet at all.  About 30 minutes after I start feeling naseous and heart starts racing. I'd finally had enough and went to the restroom to make myself throw it up. Nothing like foamies, where you feel good immediatley after doing that. I was still icky and took about an hour to feel normal again.

Moral of this story. Your tool will always tell you who's boss. Yes, won't happen again.

That's so weird, last night I ate less than 2 ounces of roast and 1 piece of broccoli and got the foamies for an hour. I haven't had that happen since I was two weeks out! I'm glad sleevers don't dump, but I get the foamies.

Shannon...I didn't get the foamies until about 4-5 months and only twice. I think the roast and broccoli may have been too heavy for you? I had it with broccoli and fish...must be a veggie thing? lol

I have just started to add veggies back in, so it might be the broccoli. I can usually handle any type of meat now. For awhile chicken was no good.

Shannon,
I'm almost a year out and still can't eat brocolli.  It gets hung every time.  I read where a lot of others can eat it, but I can't.

Thanks! I don't think I'll try it again for awhile.

Hope you're feeling better today Melissa.  You know they say "live and learn" but its crazy because sometimes there's no consistency to it.  Something we tolerate today we may not tolerate tomorrow.  Crazy ride, huh?

Julie...definately a crazy ride. Nothing like a cookie to spank you! It really makes you leary of certain foods after a bad experience though. There have been quite a few times I have made chicken or fish and a few seconds into dinner I freak out and tell my family, "Nope, can't do this...going to get my cottage cheese"
