Lurker with NSV

I mostly lurk, but feel like I know all of you and wanted to share my NSV.  I'm a little over five months out and have lost 80 pounds - still have 36 pounds to go to get to goal, but am feeling SO much better - in a size 10-12/medium in most stores.  (My progress pics are in my profile.)

I went into a store yesterday that I've always been super intimidated by (Anthropologie), tried on something and actually liked the way it looked on me.  I went up to the counter to pay and lo and behold the salesclerk is a really snotty lady I knew from church a few years ago when we lived in another neighborhood.  Your basic shallow twit who never got over high school - very judgy and superficial.  She didn't even recognize me.  When she saw my name on my debit card she looked at me and did a triple take, and then (to her credit) started exclaiming, telling me I looked amazing, etc.  I know I shouldn't care about her opinion, but it was nice to hear that from someone pretty shallow and focused on looks as opposed to hearing it from people who love me and will lie to me anyway .  Anyway it felt good, and I feel great today.

It is just nice to know that I am starting to get to a place where your average Jane on the street would look at me and think that I look like a normal sized person.  I never thought I would be so happy to be average.

Wow...that is a great NSV. And 80 pounds in five months????  HOLY COW....you are doing awesome!!

My NSV yesterday.....looked at myself nekked in the mirror getting out of the shower and noticed there is daylight between my belly and my arms when I stand. Could there possibly be a waist in there somewhere?????  I dare to hope.

Thanks for posting your success!

Sue,

You're not a lurker - I remember thinking you and I had the same stats when you posted quite a while back. GREAT NSV. Nothing like making those snotty people do a double take.

You and I are still close to on track. I'm down about 75-78lbs right now. Still in a size 12/14 though. Hoping to end up in a size 8 - but don't know if that will happen. My goal or surgeons goal is right at 130 - 140. I think that yours is similar.

Keep up the good work!
