Two Year Labs

I had my lab work last time I went to my parents and got my surgeon's nurse to mail me a copy before my appointment in August so I could put them in my spread sheet.  I'm still concerned about a few of them.  Let me know what you think.  I did the yearly comparisions.  They told me if I was taking extra D I could stop taking it.  I am taking a Dry D daily - what do you think???
I know my WBC is still dropping and my platlets.  My PCP is going to send me to a Hemotobalists when I go back to her the end of August unless it comes up.
My ALT is still a little high, but it is still coming down. Globulin shows a little low, Albumin/Globulin ration is a little high.  Folate is a little high.  Vitamin B1 is High.
Thanks
Linda

I'm not seeing the B1 or B12 or vitamin A or PTH. Is there anything missing that just didn't come across when you pasted it over?

Keep doing what you're doing on the vit D. 105 isn't too high.

Since we can't really convert beta carotene to vitamin A, you should have vit A checked to see how to supplement it. Are you having any night blindness issues. If you report that, they may check it next time.

B1 is ok to be a little high. It's water soluble.

B12 is awesome.

Don't like seeing PTH rising. How much calcium citrate do you take? Your D3 is great so I'm not sure why PTH would rise.

I take the Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron 29mg with Vitamin C.  I take it first thing in the morning about 1  hour before I take anything else.

I use the Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chewy Bites - I take 6 a day 2 hours apart and 2 hours away from all other vitamins and medicines.  They are 250 mg each with Vitamin D3.

I also take an extra Dry D3 Bariatric Advantage.

I checked Vitalady's RNY schedule and she has 150mg of iron for RNYrs. You might want to increase your iron and maybe even order some Proferrin ES like Jody, Bekah and I take. You might be able to improve your iron, ferritin, hemoglobin and hematocrit by taking a little more BA iron and 1 tablet of Proferrin at bedtime. The Proferrin needs to be snapped into 2 pieces when you take them. Proferrin cause no intestinal or constipation issues for most people.

I'll get some ordered and start taking it.  My surgeon was not even sure I would have to keep taking the iron since I am post menopause, but I guess I'll have to.  I had always had a low Hemoglobin, but had gotten it up some.  Everything else was always ok.

I go see him the first of August and wanted to have all my questions ready for him.  I'll asked him about checking my Vitamin A since my PCP won't do any extra labs for me.

Thanks.

Keep taking your D - it is great.
ALT is fine.
Folate and B1 are fine
B12 is great

Hgb, Hct, and Ferritin are in perfectly good range but they are trending down.  Something to watch closely because once they drop they are hard to bring back up!  Are you taking an iron supp?

WBC's and platelets are a little concernig although it probably has nothing to do with your surgery.  Most likely something else going on there.  Any recent illnesses?  Flu, virus, any other infection?  If so - then a repeat in a month is the next step.  If not - then a hematologist is a good place to start.

No recent illnesses - I actually feel really good.  The WBC has been going down all year and my PCP has been watching it.  She also had an ultrasound of my liver done and ran some other blood test last time:
Hepatic Function Panel - the only thing out of line was ALT was 47

Hepatitis Panel - all negative

Prothrombin Time
 (PT) INR 1.0 range was 0.8 - 1.2
Actin (Smooth Muscle Amtibody 10.4 sec Range 8.7 - 11.5
Actin (Smooth Muscle) Antibod 11 Units Range 0-19 Negative 0-19

Mitochondrial (M2) Antibody 3.7 Units Range 0.0 - 20.0 Negative

Liver-Kidney Microsomal Ab 2.6 Units Range 0.0 -20.0 Negative

Antinuclear Antibodies Direct - Negative

I take the Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron 29 mg w/ vitamin C

Thanks
Linda
