OT--Update
You all were right. I contacted the social worker at the hospital to get the ball rolling on my Mom's situation. It's looking like she'll go to an in-patient rehab situation after discharge. While she's there, we can get her apartment taken care of.
I've had to walk on eggshells on this one. Two weeks after my Dad died in 1995, I upset her terribly, and she didn't talk to me for 8 years. So through this situation, I've feared that I would do/say something that could sever that relationship again. She needs help, and I need to be the one to make it happen.
Thanks for the support. When I wrote my earlier post, I had only 4 hours of sleep, and I've not been sleeping well in the last few weeks worrying about her.

sounds like my relationship with MY mother...these situations are so stressful. From experience, please put yourself first in health. Not that you don't help you mom, just keep yourself uppermost in your mind.
