hey, Gina! let us hear from you!

we need to know that you and our other northeast lightweights are safe since the earthquake!!!!

I was wondering about Gina too!  My DD is in Washington DC today for work and she said the building was evacuated.  She said everyone thought it was a terrorist attac****il they got onto the main floor and heard an announcement that it was earthquake tremors.  I haven't heard from my niece yet.

We felt the after effects in our area (north of Pittsburgh, PA).  My DD got her day care kids down on the floor becaue her house shook and my DSILs building was evacuated.  Only 1 girl felt it in our office.

Checking in! We evacuated our building. DH evacuated his too. All present or accounted for at my house. Jody is visiting the area but hasn't checked in with me yet.

It was quite an exciting day.

I MISSED it!!  Really - I did.  I think I was in the elevator going down when it happened.  We stopped at about 5 floors with our goal of getting to the first floor.  After floor 3, the elevator shot back up to the 17th floor, then back to the 1st as we originally requested.

Got off the elevator and no one was acting like anything had happened.  Headed over to our next meeting and I saw all these people standing outside and I was thinking they were having a fire drill.  Then the next building where we were headed, people also were standing outside.  They were all looking at the building and I thought maybe there was a real fire... then I asked and was dumbfounded!!  I guess if you're driving in a car and an earthquake happens you may not feel it either. 

So we went inside the building and had our meeting until they made everyone get out - took us another 30 mins to finish up and finally get out.

The  worse part of the day was, I lost my glasses leaving that building - what a PITA... Now tomorrow I have to see if I can go find a place to make me some.  Problem is I want the anti-glare on them and most places have to send them out for that...

When are you headed home? I thought I was going to have to go to Arlington today but I'm not. Might be able to meet up this evening if you're not flying out.
