Tired!

I am now 3 weeks out from my surgery date and feeling great, but I find I get tired very easily. Today was my first day back at work and I am totally wiped out. I am getting 8 hours of sleep every night, protein is in the 70+ range, and I'm following all the guidelines to the letter.

Have others experienced increased tiredness post-surgery? If so, how long does it last? Will my old energy level return?

You are doing great with your protein!

It took me to 6-8 weeks to feel back to normal. Your body is healing, it needs all that protein and rest. Don't push yourself too hard. you will feel a little better every day.

You're going to be more tired as you're back to work.  Take it slow.  Pamper yourself and get lots of rest.  Your energy will be back soon.

I still sleep 8 hrs a night, LOL.

Actually, it was a couple of months before I really had some energy again and I think it coresponded with my getting my Vit D level up, which had been really low before surgery.  You have had major surgery and it will take you a while to recover, but it will happen.  Keeping you protein and fluids up will help.  Be sure to get all your vits and that they are the kinds you can acutally get something from.
