DGD#1 Update

Sorry, I have not been on a lot the last few days because of my training class.  I wanted to update everyone and thank you all so much for the swinging and prayers that went her way.

She could not get in to see the orthopedic surgeon until Tuesday morning.  He said it was a very bad break but the ER doctor set it properly and he was sure it would heal correctly.  So, no resetting or surgery was necessary!!  He is going to leave the soft cast/splint on it for 2 weeks for all the swelling to go down and then put a hard cast on it.

They will take more x-rays next week to be sure the healing continues as it should.

Now for the really good news.  He said he looked at her bones and they are good.  No need for any other testing.  She has no bone pain.  He said this was just two accidents.  It was broken in the same spot as before and he said it was probably still weak from the first break since it was so recent.  He did say that if she started having pain or issues with bones breaking from not having some type of trauma they would then look into it further.

Thanks again everyone!!

So glad to hear this good news!!!

If she does break any more bones I would have her looked at by a specialist.  I have a nephew who started breaking bones when he was about 6 and it got worse every year. The X-rays didn't show the weak bones so they had to do bone density tests on him.   He is grown now but has to take a lot of medication and still does a lot strength exercises.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

My middle daughter has had 3 broken arms, 2 on one arm and once on the other.  I swear Children Services would have investigated me except I wasn't there when they happened.  Two were at school and one was at a skating party.  There was nothing wrong with her bones.  She was just a klutz.

Glad she is doing well.  Children heal so quickly.  Thank goodness the Dr doesn't see any other issues.
