Glad you have an early appt.  I did too and it was great because I didn't have to wait all day.

You will probably be sore tomorrow and wonder what on earth you have done but it doesn't last.  pretty soon those pounds will start dropping away and you will be amazed.

At 63, the only thing I have ever had pierced was my ears and that was 50 yrs ago.  Someone younger and braver will have to tell you about your piercing.  Way out of my league.

Congrats and good luck tomorrow!!  Life as you know it is about to change, and it's a wonderful thing!!

Not sure about the piercing, but you might want to ask or you may wake up without it.  Lol!!!

They'll most likely make you take the piercing out.  I work in the OR and you can't have any metal on your skin because of the cautery that they use.  If you have metal and they use the cautery, then you'll run the risk of being burned by it.

Also, they're going to see the piercing when they put the catheter in your bladder.   Taking the catheter out wasn't that big of a deal, it just slid out.  When they took the drain out, it hurt and felt weird as it had to slide all the way across the inside of my abdomen to come it.  It was quick and while it didn't feel good, it wasn't awful.  I was happy to have it out.

Good luck on your surgery!

Well, you are getting ready to start your journey to the OR as I type this...you won't see this until you are on the loser's bench...welcome to the bench.

Heal fast, sip, rest, walk!
