On My Way to MI

I'm flying out in the morning I can't believe its finally here!! I've been on my diet for 8 days now and its going well. I have my first face to face appointment with Dr Kemmeter on Monday and my surgery on the 6th. I booked my flight early in case of any major snow storms. It sure has been a crazy week trying to get Christmas things done before I go and hubby had an accident and lost part of a finger. I'm just hoping everything will go smoothly from here on out. 

good luck on your trip and upcoming surgery.  Hope you have a textbook surgery and a boring recovery and goodness, I hope you DH is ok.  I hope it was a tiny part of a non-essential finger (is there such a thing?)

Dr K is about 2 hours from me............I am curious what made you choose him for your surgery?  I am looking for someone locally for a gastric sleeve  I will be following this thread closely.

Hi Caren,

I'm having DS surgery and I live in Maine so i knew I had to travel for surgery. I started at dsfacts.com and read everything I could find. Did some research on a few surgeons. I had thought about going to NY but two weeks in NY would send me over the edge. I talked to a few here that had Dr Kemmeter do their surgery and had nothing but good to say about him so I did some research on him contacted his office and well should I say the rest is history. do you have insurance to cover your surgery?  I would be a self pay so I have to shop around for the best deal but still receive quality care.

Yes i have insurance to cover my surgery. There are many self paid on the board though so I'm sure there are many people who can answer your questions on self pay. Good luck Caren
