My PCP just called and told me to stop my vit D for two weeks they said it was at 1069 which I know is high but I'm thinking if i stop it for two weeks I'll lose everything I gained on it. Is it even possible for it to be that high?  What would you do?

Trish, Ask them to fax you or email you the copy of the results.  Or offer to pick them up, so you really can look at the numbers.

Not sue how much you are taking now ... but 2 weeks with no D may not be an issue. Are u sure it was D and not B12?  Get the results.

They will send my results to me matter of fact the only result they gave me was d. I'm taking 50,000 a day right now. They called the other day to to tell me I was dehydrated. I either do well eating or drinking but not both I have to change thing up I guess.

Yeah, 1069 is impossible for D3 without symptoms but not B12. B12 is fine being that high. When you get those labs in your own hands I'll bet you'll be fine.

Yea i'm wondering if she meant to say 169. I know its not my B12 because I was over 2000 last time and it didnt bother her at all. I guess I will wait for the lab  papers to come.

Thanks all,

Trish

169 sounds more reasonable and a 2 week hiatus wouldn't be bad advice. You could start back with 50,000 IUs every other day and see if you maintained.

Vitamin D is fat soluble, which means it is stored in your fat cells.  So If you stop for a time, your body still has plenty in reserve to use. It also means you can build up too high levels, so follow your physicians advice.
