Vitamins

Good morning 

I heard that your not suppose to take your calcium and multi-vitamin together because of the way that calcium and iron is absorbed by your body. How much time should a person wait between taking them? Does anyone have any advice where taking vitamins is concerned?

The reason is because most multi vitamins already have calcium and your body can only absorb about 500 mg of calcium at a time and flushes the rest out.  So you should wait and take additional 500 mg at another time, at least 2 hours later.

Also, iron won't be absorbed properly if taken with calcium, so they should be timed at least 2 hours apart.
