End of month post ********* 07/30/09 *********
Jul 29, 2009
I was about to let the month pass without doing a end of the month post. I would have to say that July has been a wonderful month for me. I accomplished several goals and had many personal small victories:
1. I was able to go to Cedar Point amusement park and ride all the really cool rides
2. I went on another long bike ride with friends through the Cuyahoga Valley Park
3. I was able to fit into a Large size shirt ( which I bought )
4. I have been able to add jogging to my work out ( still not able to job far, but at least I can do it now )
5. My PCP stopped all my medications with the exception of a very low dose Pravachol for maintenance. I am now off the Metformin for diabetes.
6. I found out that my cholesterol was in normal range, the triglyceride level has dropped from 347 to 74. Hg1ac level has dropped to under 5.5 ( was 8.5 )
7. I have managed to drop a few pounds over the month. I am still happy with the weight loss.
The discussion with my PCP was good. The doctor informed me that my diabetes was in remission and not a factor at the present time. He did tell me that it could resurface with the wrong behavior and eating all the wrong foods again. I assured him that I will be good and watch myself. I told him that I have come to FAR to screw it up now.
Well, I guess that is about all for this month. I am surprised at how fast this month has come and gone. I was at a few stores the other day and noticed that they had Halloween items out already .

Sunday Bike Ride ****** 0719/09 ******
Jul 19, 2009
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday. I went on a bike ride through the Cuyahoga Valley Parkway, called the TowPath. They used to pull barges down the canal with horses on the way to Lake Erie. It was such a nice day, you could not have asked for better weather or group of friends to enjoy the bike ride with. We went on a 23 mile bike ride through the valley. The temperature, I think, was the best yet for a nice long ride. We stopped at various points along the way to have a refreshment and picture taking. I went with Tom & Brett ( very successful Lap Band & RNY ) Vic was part of the group ( the only one you has not had WLS ) . This trip was my third time to travel this particular path and I must say that this time around was the best. I am looking forward to longer bike rides and seeing new things this summer !!! what could be next.... the Tour De France

Cedar Point ****** 07/11/09 ******
Jul 11, 2009
I was able to meet a personal goal this past week. I went to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. This park is really cool. It has some the best roller coasters around. I have been there one time before ( it was a not a good time ) This time around, what a major change !!!!!!!!!!! I had a BLAST... I was able to ride all the roller coaster. They have a rating system for the rides and they tell you in a brochure that all rides may not accommodate guest of exceptional size, I had my doubts about being able to fit in the seats..................I WAS ABLE TO !!!!!!!!!!! it was great. I had the best time. I was also able to walk about the park without getting tired and needing to rest. This trip to park was 100% better than the first time.
I have to admit to another accomplishment. I went to a sale the on Friday and found a couple of shirts that I thought looked really nice. I tried them on, was surprised and I bought them. Oh, I forget to mention, they were a size LARGE !!!!!!!

Happy 4th of July
Jul 03, 2009
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th.
I had my 3rd band adjustment on the 30th of June. The doctor added another cc of fluid. I now have 6cc's in the band. I was informed that the reason I was having trouble keeping food down was that I was taking to big of a bite of food, not chewing enough and eating too fast. OK, I have slowed it down, eating smaller bites and chewing the heck out it. Guess what, they were right !!!!!!
