countdown begins! 6 days till surgery

Wow....it only took 10 days to get approved after my paperwork was submitted....it felt like FOREVER!!!!! So....my surgery is December 29th!!! I start the pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm really nervous. Ever since I quit smoking I have been totally unable to hear what my body is saying to me and I have gained weight....10-15lbs to be exact.....yeah. Not sure what the surgeon will say....sure he won't be thrilled. I've heard that he has opened people and closed them right back up if he doesn't feel like they have been compliant. I've also heard he just won't operate if you haven't been compliant. And with all the insurance BS Instead of doing the pre-op diet for 2 weeks...I'm doing it for 6 days. So I shouldn't be nervous because I can do ANYTHING for 6 days. I went through nursing school as a single parent with a toddler. I can do this! Just so excited!!!! It seems wierd to me that the whole world isn't excited to!!!! See thier is that self-centeredness thing. I have told a few people that I got my date and they didn't really seem too interested which really surprised me. Some of my in-laws don't think I should do it....but they don't have to live in this body.

I guess I'm just really grateful and a bit in awe. I kinda felt like..."okay Sabrina, you quit smoking and this will happen for you". And I did and it has. Ok... I have to work tomorrow and it's going to be a long hungry day.... Could use some suggestions on how to get through this. I have done liquid diets before...that were very similar to this one adn I remember on day 2 or 3 I got really dizzy and weak and I was pretty tired :(

23rd - 7-245 work....315 doctor for H&P and lab
24th - work 7-3....christmas eve stuff with the inlaws after work
25th - christmas - no work! Brunch at my moms and then afternoon with in-laws
26th - work 7-7
27th - work 7-7
28th - meet with surgeon to discuss surgery
29th - the first day of the rest of my life :)
