Learn from others mistakes!!!

I was talking to a friend today who had the surgery. Its been a few years now since she had her surgery and she has not fully utilized her tool. Instead of utilizing it as a tool and changing her lifestyle in conjunction with the blessing of the tool, she let the tool do all the work, while she continues to eat and drink the same as she has done in the past. Out of fear of intentional or unintentional sabotage I have decided to only share the knowledge of my surgery with 3 of my children, my husband and my best friend (my oldest sister).
I was recently talking to my friend about a friend of hers who is preparing to have the surgery sometime within this year, and I asked her if her friend has set a goal to try to either maintain her current weight or lose a few pounds before the surgery. To my surprise and disappointment my friend informed me that she suggests that anyone thinking of getting the surgery eat whatever they want and enjoy food, because you are going to lose the weight anyway after the surgery. She said if she wanted to change her eating habits or workout she wouldn't have had the surgery, she would have just dieted. She had the surgery so she wouldn't have to make UNNECESSARY changes. (UNNECESSARY- what is unnecessary is to receive a blessing (the TOOL) and not fully utilize it to assure its maximum success). I haven't made the best food choices or lifestyle choices, but with 4 beautiful children, a husband, 2 sisters, a niece and nephew that love me with all their hearts if I am going to put my life at risk, and put them at risk of losing me, it is going to be for something I am 100% dedicated and committed to. WLS is my tool and my tool is only as successful as I make it through perseverance, dedication, determination, planning, understanding, changing and claiming a new me and a new beginning with my family. "I am only as strong as the prayer I speak and the faith I keep".
