Well out of the hospital and at home.  I can't believe it.  It seemed to happen so fast.  Although those first two days were pretty ruff.  Believe it or not the surgery seem to be the lesser of my problems.  The first day I had to have a clot filter put in.  The table I had to lay on for about 1 hour was very narrow and hard as a board.  I never and I mean never sleep or lay on my back.  When the procedure was done, my back was killing me.  Then the next day I had my WLS and again on a very flat operating table for just under 4 hours.  The hospital bed they put me in was one that had an air mattress and again the whole time in the hospital I was on my back.  As of today, most all my pain from the surgery and incisions is gone.  However, my back is still giving me many problems and hampering my mobility.

Back to the surgery, my surgeon stated that I was a challenge.  Because of the scar tissue around the lapband he had to remove caused me to have two incisions about 3 inches long.  Also the lapband cause some damage to my upper stomach so he had to do a partial gastrectomy.

Now that I am home, I am having trouble eating.  Nothing appeals to me.  I basically have to force myself to eat.  And because I have to eat slow makes it more of a chore to eat.  My insulin needs are a fraction of what it was before.  Today I had to reduce it even further.  I am no longer on the insulin pump.  Glad to get rid of that ship anchor!  Doctor Sonnanstine and his staff are flat out amazing.  Their compassion and professionalism is the best.  Anyone in the Columbus area should consider this program.

All in all I am happy with the way things went and has turned out.  I am still dedicated to do this and keep to the program.  Looking forward to my 2 week check in with the doc and see how my weight is.  I need to mention my family.  Thier support through out this process has been amazing.  I am so lucky in having the family I have.  And my wife has been my rock.  She is so positive and supportive.  I know I am a hard act to be around sometimes and she always takes it in stride.
