Pre Surgery

 I have been waiting for my surgery since I started this process in April 2010. My husband and I are going thru this process together. We had some delays when we had to see the psychiatrist and getting him to get our test results to our case worker. We did not have a difficult time with our insurance at all - they only required us to meet the BMI requirement and to have the psych evaluation. Our surgeon - Kimberley Steele - did require a sleep study and of course meeting with the nutritionist. She also required us to lose some weight in order to shrink our liver to make the surgery easier. When I met with Dr Steele for my first appointment I was impressed with her. She is serious about her job and wants her patients to be the most successful that they can be. Everyone that I have spoken to that have seen the doctors at Johns Hopkins for this surgery said that she is the toughest doctor in the practice. I am looking forward to having this surgery done next month. My husband is 5 days post op and is doing well, much better than we expected. I am looking forward to having a "normal" life again and being active with my kids.
