One year band revision to RNY check-up

Sep 15, 2012

I had a 9 month check up, but for some reason forgot to write my numbers down on here.  I did have my blood taken again for this appointment to make sure my Vitamin D had increased, but for some reason they didn't even test Vitamin D (I got it checked later an it's o.k.).  But it did show my B-12 was really high, but my surgeon was not concerned at all.  He said it's good I'm absorbing the vitamins I'm taking, but he says I'm still not absorbing all of the calories I'm taking in.

Thursday, Sept. 13th was my 1 year anniversary.  I went to my surgeon for my one year revision check-up on Sept. 14.  At that appointment I was 224 at the drs. office and 221 at home.  On my home scales I've lost 76 pounds.  On the drs. scales I've lost 40%.  Dr. S says he usually looks at 50% loss for none revision RNYs at one year, but I was good since it was a revision.  Usually RNY's are initially cut where my band was at so mine had to be cut outside the band area since it had scar  tissue.  Therefore, my pouch is a little larger than first time RNYers so my weight loss is expected to be a little less.  I'm so happy I don't have the acid reflux and throwing up that I had with the band.
