I've always been a big boned person. I was very athletic in high school and college and therefore that kept the weight down. When I went back to get my masters' degree, I was working full-time and going to school 3 1/2 hours at night. Therefore, I started eating a lot of junk food in class and on the run all the time. Plus I was stressed a lot and I realized that I'm an emotional eater and would eat whenever I was stressed. I started gaining weight and then I got pregnant. Of course, I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy. I delivered my son in 1999 at 263, but when he was born only 15 pounds went away. I struggled for several years with the weight. My weight went up and down. I was in Weight Watchers 7 times over the last 3 1/2 years. When I went to surgery on 3/22/07 I was at 278 on my scales (282 on my doctors scales) which is the most I've ever weighed. It was getting extremely unhealthy for me. Erica Written on 4/5/07
