She is AMAZING! I've known her since 2001 when she was at Lenox Hill where I had my RNY with a different surgeon. When I came to an info session in 2010, seeking a revision, the first thing she said to me, was "I remember you" and then when I told her how much I gained back she replied "you are still beautiful". Worried about what I was to do, DS, RNY-RNY or a BOB, she guided me thru the process to the BOB. She knew my weaknesses (wine) and my strengths (exercise) and gave me the information and knowledge to make a educated decision. I went with the BOB. When my Mom, who was totally supportive with the RNY in 2002, objected, Dr. K spoke to her on the phone, answering all her questions. The night before my surgery, I spoke with her on the phone and she reassured me of my decision. Today, I am 4 mos out, have restriction back and down over 40lbs, and I am 16lbs to goal. Dr. Kurian has been as advertised as I knew she would be.

    Happy 3rd Anniversary Hottie!!! Has it been 3 years? You have been through 3 lifetimes in the past 3 years. Know that I am always proud of you for kicking this surgery's butt, and mine too when I was being wimpy! We have to get together soon! Miss Ya, XOXOX Gabriela

Scale starting to move again

whether or not my scale moves has a direction correlation on how much I work out.  Not how long but how consistentally I work out.  I've been doing a lot of walking as of late bc of my lower back problems, but, not so much gym time.  This week, I've been there 3 straight days going from 30-45-1hr in workouts. I took yesterday off bc of an out of town interview, but, plan to return this afternoon.  I see my Dr. next week, on Friday, and although I don't need a fill, I'd like to be down some serious LBs. The last time I saw her was Jan 28th when I had a fill bringing me to 9cc.

Threw out my back - weight loss stalled

Several years ago, after attempting to get back into shape by running, I threw out my hip and lower back (left side).  MRI revealed I had a bulging disc.  Every once and awhile it resurfaces, usually not related to exercise.  Last time, in Sept of 2010, it resurfaced as a result of dancing, drunk, in flip flops at a bar with wet floor and this time, after driving 12 hours over a period of 2 days 2 weeks ago.  What is tough is that they generally treat the strain with motrin 800 mg, 3 times a day for 2 wks or so.  BUT, HAVE YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THOSE PILLS?  They are hard to get down.  And, I kind of got them from the Ortho doctor and ignore taking them.  The pain had almost subsided and then it came back tenfold yesterday. So, I bought a bill crusher and now take themwith a shot of some liquid.  I needthe pain to subside and hence the inflammation so I canget back to the gym.
