Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! RNY 10/31/03 – down 91 pounds!!! Good luck!

Hi Julie - gosh you are so lucky to have it done so soon, I am waiting for Rachel to get with my insurance as I was approved for surgery but with a different surgon..who now does not do bariatric surgery. So, hopefully I will be "in your shoes" in a few weeks time. Keep your chin up and remember all the Doc told you to do when you get home. Keep us posted on how you feel...wishing you luck and sending lots of prayers!

Hi Julie, I'd say don't be nervous but, heck I was. Of course it was for nothing (except I burned a few more calories) because my surgery went just fine. I had soreness afterwards and frankly, my back hurt worse than my incision. For me, the week before surgery was worse than the week after. Remember to keep it positive. That includes keeping only positive people around because before surgery we are so sensitive to every comment people make. It will be just fine. I hope all your health and weight loss dreams come true,
