I have GOOD NEWS and BAD NEWS...

Well, the good news is that I am completely done with consultations, extra testing, etc. And since BCBS IL removed the supervised diet requirement, the bariatric program director is going to submit my information to BCBS tomorrow! YAYYYY!!!

Ok, so that happiness was short lived. Unfortunately, I do not qualify for FMLA at this time because I switched jobs about 8 months ago and my new job has informed me that they do not allow just unpaid leave; THEREFORE, I have to wait until May to have surgery afterall. I was quite disappointed. I was really looking forward to having surgery early, loosing some extra pounds before summer, and just having the worst behind me by then. To my dissapointment, it's just not going to happen.

Even though the surgery isn't going to happen when I want it to, I figured it just isn't my time yet and that it will happen. It's crazy because... even though I knew they were going to take away the program requirement, something deep inside me told me that I would still be having surgery in May. My one year anniversary at work is in May AND my initial 6 month program for BCBS IL would have been completed in May, AND with the program now obsolete I STILL have to wait till May. How ironic, right? It's not ironic, it's  simply confirmation, letting me know that I'm not following MY plan, I'm following the LORD's plan. I know that everything is going to work out when He wants it to and everything will be fine.

I wasn't totally disappointed because as I said, I kind of already knew. In the meantime, I've been looking on the bright side. I'll be a lot more prepared for surgery and the weather should be a lot better, which will be less of a hassle. I'll be able to dress more comfortably afterwards in my nice, roomy, spring dress instead of jeans, snow boots, and a winter coat.
