So, it's happened...now what?!

Jun 24, 2010

So, I had my surgery done on June 15th, exactly one week and two days ago. And I must say, I am very happy with my progress...I lost 24 lbs so far. I'm kind of frustrated with the redundancy of my menu, but I know that its temporary. Its become harder and harder each day I move away from surgery. I'm experiencing a period right now where I'm terrified to introduce any thing new into my body because I'm afraid of a negative reaction. For the first two days after I left the hospital, I was given the okay to eat loose mashed potatoes and loose cream of wheat and other food of that consistency. I was miserable! I had a non-stop feeling of nausea but I couldn't understand why. After speaking with a family member that also had the surgery earlier this year, I learned that I am only supposed to have clear liquids, like broth, water, Popsicles, jello, and other things of that consistency. So, for now things are going kind of smooth. I had a episode this morning and nearly fainted because the bathroom was too hot and I guess because of all the recent strain my body has gone through, I shouldn't have done that. But, hey...you live and you learn! Until next time.....Do better, be better!
