I have been gone for so long

  Hello again to all,  
I have been gone since the mid of July.  Life have just been nuts for me.  Since July I have lost two family members that had a long full life.  My children had to call the ambulance for me and I ended up having my appendix taken out, that was worse then having my children.  My son is just 10 and he did so great was not scared about making the call my little girl is 8 and she made sure the dogs where out of the way so they could come up stairs and get me to the hospital.  I live in the Portage area and please to all the read this DON'T GO TO THE HOSPITAL IN PORTAGE!!!!!!!  I wanted to be moved to Madison but they said that my appendix could rupture and then they pumped me full of drugs and let me sit until 11:00 the next morning before doing the surgery.  What the ?@ll !!!!!  I found out that the doc didn't feel that it was an emergency so he didn't come in until 9:00 to start the surgeries for that day.  On a great note I'm doing good even with all of that crap

Now as for as my RNY on Jan 28,09 I'm down to 167 and my real goal is 150, would like to see 140 and I'm sure that I will but I have never felt so great in my life.  I have lost 120 pounds since I started and 95 since surgery.  I don't have to be on my C-pap or any of my meds for high blood pressure.  All I take is the vits in the day and I'm doing great.  I'm down from a 26-28 to a 12-14 now and well I just think that is nuts.  I have not been this size since elementary school....  We went to a family x-mas thing yesterday with my family, and well I really didn't want to go (if you knew my family you would understand)  most of them have not seen me since our brother pasted in February.  My oldest sister started to cry and tell me that I look so much like our mom now that she looks and me and all she can see is mom ( my mother pasted away 8 years ago and we all miss her bunches)... It was a great time I have 9 Sib's and this was the first time that they didn't look at me like a big person that was just there.  My oldest Brother Mark even talked to me like a normal person,  I really don't think that my change did it all but I think that with all the loss in my family that my Sib's are trying to be more human, talk and treat each other better this is what I wanted all the time.  My family is changing for the better just like me.

Thank you to everyone here that has helped me and I will not stay away so long the next time...

Getting to the next step if I can

I have been gone for a while dealing with things here at home.  I'm now at the point in the prosess that I have been approved by my insurance company to pay for it all.  Now my family Doctor my have found a problem that may delay everything again.  Now my thyroid may not be working the way that it should be.  I don't understand all the numbers that they put out there but this is what I have now.  One shows that normal is .70 and I'm working at .67, that one is not bad but the other is normal is .35 and I'm working at .10, this is the one that they may put me on more medication to get that back to normal and my postpone everything again.  I dont know why they didn't look at this before now, but it is just the way things go.  I would like my surgery to be done before the end of January but I dont see it come until after that. I will know more on Monday when I get the call from my doctor and the PAC that is looking at everything.

Still hanging in there.

I got the first appointment when they to the shrink test on you.  over 700, T or F questions on if you are in your right mind or not.  There where so many that didn't apply to me because of my life style.  I don't drink, smoke and think about sex all day ( I have been married to long to do that / lol). 
That was on the 17th of September, now my next one is on the 17 of October with the health psychologist, and the other is on the 31st with the nutritionist. 
My insurance company has already approved the lath ryn for me.  Did this take this long for everyone and will my date ever come.....
Now my hopes are that I will be able to get this done by Christmas.  I drive school bus, and well now that school is back in I can only take so much time off.
Some please tell me that there is a light at the end of all of this.

Day to Day

I'm still waiting to here from the Doctor,  I have called my insurance comp. and they have not yet received anything from my doc.  It is ok, I know that most of us want this to get fast but well we all know that the insurance comps. run at there own pace (very very slow).  I just would like to be going down the road faster and becoming a happy and healthy person.  My family and I have started to change every thing about the way we eat, as far as what, when and how much.  They make my life so easy, and will do what ever it takes to get us all healthy.  I'm very lucky to have the people in my life that I do.  They suport me and what I want to do with my life.  That is what family is all about, growing with eachother and filling all of our needs.

Things Just getting started

Well this is the start,  I have a new Doc, that is so very nice.  The program that I'm in is with the UW in Madison Wisconsin.  I feel so great about how they do things.  The only thing is that I wish is would go faster.  My kids are 7,8 and a step son that is 16, I just can't keep up with them at all.  I just want my new life to start and with the help and support of my Loving husband and family it will a come when it is time.

My Story

Hi all,
My name is Kathy,  I'm waiting for the insurance company and the new doctor to get things started.  I had most of the things done and set to go in our old home then well life happens and we had to move for my husbands work.  I know that the by-pass is covered I just have to start everything over with a new doctor.  I'm so happy to get this going again.  I just can't wait, I need this to keep up with my kids.  they are 7 and 8, full of life and I just can't keep up with them. 
I'm 43 years old and unable to work full time right now.  I hope to go back to work soon.  I want my life to be fun and be able to be able to see my grand kids when they come 20 years from now.
