The journey...

Jun 07, 2010

I am now 10 days post op. I am finding it a little difficult to get all my liquids & protein in, but each day is getting easier.
I am still sore at my port site but everything else is good. I had my 1st post op visit with my Dr this past Friday to have my staples removed. He said everything looked really good. I am down a total of 21.8 lb & that includes my 1 week preop diet. I will take that.
I am trying to get in at least 30 min of walking each day. I usually wait until dusk when the humidity isn't as bad here in Bama.
I find it amazing that I can get full on 1/2 to 1 cup of soup. I do have a tight band in the morning so I have to wait until mid morning before I drink anything that is thick like a protein shake. However by that time I'm ready for lunch & want soup. So right now I am having 8 oz of light juice with 1 scoop of unflavored protein for b'fast, 1 cup of soup for lunch, crystal light or protein water in between. Then for lunch I have soup, a few hours later I'll have a protein shake & then more water & then some soup for dinner, after dinner I have a sugar free popsicle. That sounds like alot now that I type it but its about 500 calories. I really want to get that up to about 800. I am sure when the swelling goes down & I don't feel so bloated I will be able to get more in.
I go for my first fill on July 12th & to visit with the nutritionist. I have been writing down what I eat & drink so I can take it to her.
I am glad to be on this side of the WLS journey. Its a learning experience, but one that I am embracing. I will work with Faith (the name of my band) so I can reach all of my goals. Cause you gotta have Faith, right? = )
