Let the countdown begin, 24 days to Pre-Admission testing and the start of my 2 week Surgery Prep Diet!!!!!
37 days to my RE-BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!
I can truely say New Year, New Me. I have worked hard to get to where I am today and now I am looking forward to working harder to improve.

Last visit with Doctor before Surgery

So, I went to see my doctor this morning and it looks like my Hiatal Hernia will be fixed during my RNY. I am so excited, I have done my research and I am ready. It took me 4 years to make this decision and I am glad that I took my time to make it. I am in a good place with myself and my family - I am doing this for me!
I am not afraid and when the doctor asked me if I have any questions I felt good to say NO.
I have asked every question on my list and I have to say that opening an account on OBESITYHELP.COM has also been a huge help. I enjoy reading other blogs and even the TMI is useful information
All I need now is my actual surgery date which I am hoping will be at the beginning of February.

Insurance Approval received

Hi, I am pretty new to this site - I just figured out how to add my picture LOL.
So, I received "the call" 2 days ago, my insurance has approved my surgery. I will see my doctor in a couple of weeks and finally pick a date for Surgery.
I started thinking about RNY about 3 years ago and I have attended my doctor seminar 3 times. I have done tons of research online and have attended support groups and asked a tone of questions of people at all different stages of their journey. So I don't understand why panic set in. Yes, panic!?!?!?!
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled! I cried after I hung up the phone - all of this prep work is done and well worth it! I am really doing this.
Good Bye to; High Blood Pressure, Aches in my joints, Breaking sweats walking up 1 flight of steps, Being too tired to play with my kids, and Shortness of breath.
I guess the mixed emotions are normal, after all, this is a life changing experience. I am sure I will be experiencing more of it. Thanks for letting me ramble
