Surgeon Testimonial

Troy Glembot M.D.
Dr Glembot was my PCP first choice for surgeon even if I had to wait a little to get him. I have to say that after hearing him speak at the orientation I was sold. His personality is open and makes you feel secure. He tells you the truth even if it is hard to hear and helps you make an informed choice about your care. When I did have some post-op complications he was quick to respond and did not make me feel as if I was bothering him with my problems. His office is open, his staff helpful, and his education amazing. He is continually seeking to advance his skill and keeps up to date on new information. I am very glad we made this choice and that my PCP recomended him.

Teddi is out of the OR and in her room. The surgery (gastric bypass) was a success and there are no signs of complications

I can eat SALAD!
on July 29, 2011 7:31 pm
I know most of you post ops will know why this is such a big deal. I have had some PTSD about raw veggies. I blame Jenna! hehe! Her first experiences with raw veggies really effected me too, I talked to my NUT and she said not to worry about it I wont die if I don't eat raw veggies. Before surgery I loved salads, and not just the ones with so much crap on them they don't qualify as healthy anymore. I missed the garden weeds, as my kids called them, I loved them all, baby bib, iceberg, spinach, dandelion, romaine, all of them!

My first experience was this past week when a friend made tuna salad, BTW I seem to like raw tomatoes now too, and she served it in spinach greens. Now I wasn't stupid, I knew I was taking a chance but if your friends cant deal with your foamies then don't plan on having any friends after this surgery, and I didn't try to eat the tough stem pieces. It was AWESOME! So 4 days later I decided to have an actual salad. I only did about half a cup of salad with about 1/2oz cheese and a tablespoon of a low sugar and fat free dressing. Again it was awesome! I am now looking forward to more salads in my future, maybe with some chicken or diced egg on top next.

Still cant believe I ate a raw tomato, weird.

Monkey Butt Protein
on July 5, 2011 2:29 pm
Know what I learned today? Gensoy protein taste like monkey butt! It is great for cooking protein muffins and such but blueberry protein pops, eew! Made Rachael taste it, HA! Now Rachael knows what gritty monkey butt taste like too!

Every cake, muffin and pancake I have put it in was awesome! As a shake or pudding or protein pop and you get this gritty feeling and gross tasteing after taste. Now I know why Jenna gave it to me, she hates me (just kidding). Its not going to waste just become alot of muffins in the future. I wish I had taken a picture of it going down the drain for you, it was a weird gray-green-purple color.

The lable of the Gensay says "Natural Flavor". Now we know what "Natural" taste like...MONKEY BUTT!
