Hi Linda: I am so sorry to hear of your complications, but I am hopeful that this will find you feeling better and well on your way to a healthier life. About those bills - you may wish to contact a personal injury/malpractice attorney. A lot of times the consultation is free, and they will take your case on a contingency basis (meaning their fees are paid if and only if you win). You may also want to see if the hospital will negotiate with you. Sometimes they do, getting paid something is more attractive than not collecting at all. Bankruptcy is another option, although not an attractive one. Some states allow you to keep your house. You may want to email Walter Lindstrom's office. His email address is in the AMOS library. If he can't help you, perhaps he can point you in the right direction. It is probably easy for me to say, but I really mean it when I tell you that although these money problems are very stressful for you and your family, the most important thing is that you survived the surgery, and you will have a much healthier life to look forward to. I will be thinking of you. Try to stay positive. This too shall pass. Hugs,
