~*~(From my heart to yours)I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.(unknown author)~*~Hugs~*~

Hi Helenjean, I just wanted to say that any weight loss is great and everybody loses at a different pace. I felt so sad for you when I just read your post on the messagee board, I hope you get your spirits back up, I'm sure your doctor would say you are doing great. I'll pray for you, I know this has to be very emotional, even though I'm not there yet, I can imagine the fears. Take care. =)

hey there. i'm pre-op ;-) after wanting rny for two years i just changed it to DS. ( my disclaimer-- i don't try to persuade people to have one surgery over the other since i think it's a very personal decision and people should choose the one they feel is the right procedure for themselves.) go here to see why i chose DS: http://www.duodenalswitch.com/Procedure/DS_vs__RNY/ds_vs__rny.html. ;-) blessed be~

Hi. I didn't really choose the procedure I had done. I wanted laparoscopic, but it can't be done with all people. If you have had prior ab surgeries and have scarring, they can't do it and also, if your liver is too big, they can't lift it to see the stomach. I didn't have either one of those problems, however, he got about 5 hours into surgery and was done and then he sensed something was wrong and opened me up. Turns out, I had some complications with the lap surgery and he had to redo it a little. I wanted lap because they say the recovery time is better and with littler amounts of scarring. I was really happy with my recovery time and I am not to afraid of having the scars because it shows a reminder of what I went through. As far as the RNY, I chose that because it is the only procedure that is approved through the FDA and is the safest, has the highest success rate, and is also the least amount to have to have re-surgery later. I also didn't have a choice with that because that was the only procedure my surgeon did! Hope this helps!

Hello everyone! I am finally home!
Well,it was an interesting week! I will be writing in detail soon, I promise.
I met some of the most incredible people in Lubbock. My angel, Dawne is awesomw. She looks incredible and is so happy! Have to tell you, her hubby is nice to look at too! Lol!Just kidding, Dawne, but he is a really nice, handsome guy.
The other ladies who had surgery the same day and the day after were the best women you could ever hope to meet. Darenda is a wonderful mother(gorgeous little girls!), great hubby and the most upbeat lady(even when I was at my worst, she was at her best!).Shari is a card. And positive! The woman has no clue what a negative thought is! What a woman! She had me laughing no matter what! These 2 ladies kept my spirits up when I was down, serously. Then, there were Linda and Russ. Russ is the ultimate in a support sytem. He took care of all of us there(6 total)who needed a little encouragement, help with IV's, prayers, whatever, he was always willing to help. His wife, Linda, glows. She is one of those woman, you know what I mean.Laurie and Connie were the women scheduled on 9/11(day after us). Connie was fun!She had a LAP, so left before any of us.Laurie and I hung in there together. Laurie ended up with an Open, so she left today. I had a few problems with x-ray and chemistry, but I left today too!
Thank you to everyone who posted to my profile! I have no idea when I will catch up. But thank you again!!!
