Surgeon Testimonial

Sheldon Randall, M.D.
I had to wander around the hospital and 2 other medical buildings until I found his office

then

wait an hour past my appt time to see him.

He was pretty chill. Said I qualified and I would have to do a 6 month program to get the insurance to approve payment of the surgery.

He remembered seeing me at one of his seminars. Yes!

Office staff? Skinny! Seriously skinny! But healthy looking.. and very nice.

The Dr DID say its very important to stick with the program for a minimum of 5 years. 80% of people who stick with it keep the weight off. Those who dont stick with the program only have 50% chance of losing and keeping weight off.

1/4/2012 Edited to add: He came to see me pre-op as did Joane, the RN nurse on his staff. I also saw her post op. I did not see Dr. Randall again until I was ready to leave.( I had NO complications or reason to see him.) He was pleased to see me getting out of bed when he walked in. He gave me some final words of advice then Joanne went over some eating tips and I was released. I followed up with Joanne in 1 week to remove the bandages and On-Q Pain Buster. I see Dr. Randall 1/6/2012 for my first follow up with him.

Finally out of the 170's (9/2/2012)

           Happy Autumn!!!

*Walking for fun (love seeing if I can shave minutes off my miles)
*Hydrating (adding lemon, cucumbers and even blueberries to my water)
*Decreased smoking (why did I ever pick it back up?)

Not being "perfect" but who is? Im still walking, eating protein first and making an effort to drink water.

Gotta start upping the exercise. Plastics are in my future (I think).

Not taking good care of myself though.

Tomorrow is a new day. I need to get back to taking my multivitamin and drinking water

Downfalls:

Coca~Cola

Jack Daniels
smoking

I was doing so well BUT got off track so easily. UGH

My Story

HI! My name is Liz. IM 33 years old and from Massachusettes. My initial consult for GB-RNY was 1/14/11 at Leonard Morse Hospitals Weight Management Center.

Edited 1/4/2012 to ADD:

Post-op 18 days and 'ing my RNY! Down 28 lbs. and feel great! Wearing the binder, getting the protein in (60 + grams a day), getting the fluids in (64 + ounces a day) AND taking my vitamins (multi, B12, calcium).

Next comes exercise....   lol.
