home from the hosp.

So I am back from the Surgery!!!  I stayed in the hospital for 7 days (I am living in germany and they are very cautious) My doctor was good--but I didn;t see him but for 1 minute after the surgery- he came in 2 times and said "How is everything" I said "fine" and he left.  I guess I wanted some more info on how the operation went and such...but oh well.   The surgery part was ...well I don't remember any of it--I took my oxygen mask breaths and the next thing I knew I was in the ICU-I don't even remember recovery room.  The ICU had 4 people in the same room all that had just had the surgery. There was a lady that was crying and gagging--then another person that was hacking.  I just kept pushing my pain pump and doozing off.  They took out my catheter ( heey oooo) and gave me a pseduo scrub down. The next day they moved me to the regular floor and I got one roommate that spoke english.  I had my pump and 2 drain tubes with sacs (It would be nice if they were not clear so I didn;t have to see the junk coming out of my belly!)  I started walking and peeing on my own.  My husband had orginally planned on coming back to get me on the day I get out (we live 3 hours away and didn't want to spend money on a hotel)  But come friday he came walking into my room right after I got off the phone with him!  I almost started crying-he is such a dear man--that is just what I needed. He even brought the computer with "Project runway" and "america's next top model" on it--and watched it with me (I really thinks he likes the shows secretly)   My only real issues were pooping and my IV's --I am blessed with rolly, tiny, buried veins- which makes IV's a nighmare- I got stuck a total of 14 times in 7 different places (including my feet) --I finally just told them to give up and I will drink constant water after thursday.  Also we had to poop before we could leave.--I got around this and went home anyway--but as of today I am pooping like a champ--which is interesting on a liquid --more like "sludging" than pooping.

So I am home today--I took today off but have to go back to work tomorrow--I am a little worried about my energy level--I think if I get my protein in that it will be ok to make it all day.  My stitches come out in 3 days (and they are itching like crazy)
I have lost 10 lbs since the day of surgery--not too shabby--I sort of wish time would fly though---I know it will once I start back to work.

So far I have eaten- yogurt, apple sauce, sf pudding,  EAS protien shake, hummus, egg drop soup, and Nectur -roadside lemonaide--I haven't gotten sick yet and I am full after a shot glass worth of anything (I don;t know how I am going to get in all of my protein in the first month--without soild food- I am struggling getting 1 1/2 liters of water in between "meals"  --I am trying though.

Product review: Necteur -roadside lemonaide--First off it is NOT clear-it is milky in color--I tried to put it in a blender and it foamed up horribly.  So I dumped that batch out and did the instructions of one scoop in 8 oz of water "dissolves instantly" instant my big fanny--I stirred and stirred that stuff and still had big globs of powder on the top. so I let it wait awhile--still big globs-so I scooped out the big globs--the taste is ok- more fruity -but not like fruit juice (which is what the ads look like) so I let it sit awhile (cause I can only drink 4 sips without feeling like I am going to bust) and by the time I got back to it --it has about an inch of silt at the bottom---I give it a thumbs down for now--I will try later-maybe try shaking it --I also bought the fuzzy navel--so I will give that a whirl.
