Time flies and life is great!

I survived my first post op vacation! We planned a trip to Illinois to visit Ted's family. I hadn't met most of them and Ted hasn't seen many of them in SO many years. Before We left my Dr's office called with me gallbladder ultrasound results and they found stones and sludge. I'm not in a lot of pain just discomfort with occasional pain. My Primary was concerned because my last visit I was very tender and it hurt when he pressed in that area. I have my 3 month appointment with my surgeon on the 8Th and his office called after my primary Dr's office called them to make an appointment. He'll do my three month check up and my gall bladder consult at the same visit. I'll more than likely be having surgery to remove it in the near future. I was a bit worried about going on vacation for a week, but have been feeling fine, eating hasn't been an issue since my dilation so we went. It was a long drive but we got there and spent the first day with family. My husband's mom had planned a huge BBQ for us. Ted's brothers, cousins, uncle and their families were all there and it was great to meet all of them and spend time with them. We spent a week in Peoria which is where my husband is from. It's a small, quiet place and it was a very nice change from the chaotic, loud town where I live. I did really good with eating and most of the food was protein and I handled it very well. I had one bad day when we went out to eat with Ted's mom and her boyfriend. I had tried re fried beans once before early out from surgery and they made me sick, but It's been a long time so I had a few bites of them this time thinking it's been a while, they may be OK....NOT!!! I spent most of Thursday sick and felt bad that I couldn't enjoy the outing. Overall it was a really good vacation! I'm officially 3 months and one week out from surgery and have lost 76 pounds!! My head still is trying to grasp that number and it amazes me that I've lost that much! I'm down from my pre surgery weight of 426. It's hard to believe that I'm 50 pounds away from being under 300! My BMI has dropped 10.6 points and that makes me SO happy! I'm noticing a LOT of sagging skin and I'm starting to resemble a melted candle! I'm getting better about some kind of routine with my vitamins and water. It's been a learning process and it's by no means an easy journey but the outcome is worth the challenge. Anything worthwhile isn't easy and the life I have now and will have is so much more substantial than it's ever been. My younger sister is doing better and she's trying to start over with her life since losing her babies. She's strong and a survivor and will be ok!
