Hi well lets see I have been heavy since birth. I have had many ups and downs with weight loss through out my life. So I fianlly decided to have wls. I started out with the RYN and decided there are just to many risks and Kaiser insurance is a pain. So I talked to my family and they are sending me to Mexico.

Ok had my first fill on June 28th in Arlington Washington. I had 1.6 cc in my 4 cc band. It is a couple of weeks later and I have no restriction at this time. I go in for my second fill on 7/19/08 hopefully I will have restriction at that time.

This lap band is a very funny thing. Yesterday I thought I had not restriction because I was able to eat a piece of pizza and today I can only eat about 2 bites of something and I am completely full. Today I went to the gym and it was great I was able to do my first full workout since the surgery. I rode 8 miles on the expresso bike and a 1/2 hour of strength training. It felt great!!!

I am home

Well I am home from Mexico it was a great experience. I weighed myself today and I am down 10 pounds already but I know its just water but it still feels nice to see the scale dropping. I must say I can only eat like two bites of cream soup and I am so full I could well you know. But it feels good to be banded.

Ok I woke up this morning and gained 5 lbs. WTF yestday I did a five mile bike ride on the expresso bike and 30 min on the ellipitcal and I gained weight ugh!!!!. I have one week until my surgery ???

I have changed my mind and I am going to have Lap Band. I have seen and heard to many bad things about gastric and I not going to put myself through that!!!!

My Story

I am sure my story is like most, I have been heavy all my life. I have been on so many diet I can't even count. I have probably lost my body weight a million times over but have not kept it off. So about a year ago I decided to have RYN so I went through all of Kaiser's classes, tests and counseling. But what really changed my mind was when I went to the RYN support groups at Kaiser. I looked around the room and everyone was complaining that they are losing their hair, their toenails are falling off, their skin is saggin because their body can't catch up with the weight loss. Well that was it for me.. I decided to have the lap band. I have no medical issues at all just being big. I thought omg with the RYN these are just the side effects imagine if there were complications???? But one of the good things that did come out of all those classes is that I have been exercising since November 1 and have not stopped. I love to exercise but I also love to eat lol. So I am looking forward to this journey in my life.......
