Brief Introduction

A few months ago - my very dear husband (VDH - TexasRigDiver) mentioned he's interested in WLS. He had completed a lot of research and knew what he wanted. I was excited for him and the ball got to rollin'. During this period, we discussed me having surgery as well. i have a 'low" BMi (36) with no current co-morbidities so I didn't think I'd be eligible. We started researching Mexico options.

Now with VDH's DS surgery set (Nov 29), I decided I need to start working on my surgery. After speaking with our insurance I had convinced myself i wouldn't qualify though they suggested I try to get a pre-auth and use my hypothyroidism as an indicator.

Met with the surgeon November 9 and he feels with my previous co-morbidities (sleep apnea, diabetes, and elevated blood pressure) I'll be a great candidate for the VSG. I received a referral for a heart scan and blood work. I called the cardio office and had to leave a message. I'll go Nov 14 for the bloodwork. The dr's office said I should know something next week.

I'm excited for this adventure for both of us and look forward to being active with my honey again!
