I am a 39 year old wife and mother of 2 daughters, one is 22 and one is 16 and the grandmother of one grandaughter Riley 7 months.    As you can see  from my  oldest daughter's age I was a teenage mother (16).   I never had a weight  problem until I hit my twenties and then I just lost control.  I held pretty  steady  at 170 pounds after my second daughter was born  for a long time and then about 6 years ago when I went to work for a law firm  I gained 80 pounds and have not  been able to lose it.  Well I quit the law firm this last January and now I am hoping to lose the 80 pounds that came with it plus a few more if I can.

Second Surgery 8/13/2008

Well I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow to fix my leaking band we will see how it goes and hopefully I will start to lose weight again.  At least I didn't have to do a pre-op diet.  Today I have chosen to only have liquids as it makes me feel safer about surgery tomorrow to have a empty stomach.

Banded today

Everything went smoothly and I was home within 5 hours and not to much pain.  I lost 15 pounds on the pre-op liquid diet which is a great motivator.

Pre-op liquid diet

10/05/07 Today is the first day of my 10 day liquid diet.  This is not going to be easy as I am already hungry and it is only 1:30 p.m.   I guess I will go have another diet jello.

10/11/07 Today is day 7 of the liquid diet and the hungry pains aren't so bad but it doesn't mean I wouldn't kill for a taco.  I sometimes don't even want to bother with having something to drink but I have to remember that I need something in me to keep me going even if it is just  a protein drink.  Well only 4 days until surgery Yea for me and then more liquids Boo.

Sugery date

I got my sugery date today I go in October 15, 2007.  This has been about a 5 month process for me from seminar till surgey.

Approval finally

Today is August 30, 2007 and I have approval from the insurance company.  Let the games begin.

My Story

I am 39 years young and the mother of 2 girls (22 and 16) and one grandaugher (Riley 8 months)  I did not have a weight problem growing up but I started gaining weight  when I was about 19 and have dieted my way up to almost 250 pounds.  80 pounds of that was put  on after I went to work for a law firm about 6 years ago.  I left that  job this past January and am hoping to lose that 80 pounds plus a few more.
