Happy Happy...

Mar 29, 2012

Well, it's March, and time for an update.

This month I have reached a najor goal of having lost 51.6 lbs since I joined Weight Watchers last June. Yay! That makes a total of 176.8 lbs since my highest weight a couple months before my surgery. I am so proud of that, and I am raring to go to get rid of another 100 lbs at the least. I'd like to get down to 150. If --no WHEN-- I make it there, I will aim to get down to the weight that is best for my height. I'm 5'4", so that is around 135 or so.

I have not been this weight since I was in college 20 years ago. I've been really large my whole life, and I'm so pleased to see how I'm doing. I still take my vitamins and calcium citrate and everything like I'm supposed to, so I'm hoping for no problems with my blood work. I'm still working on trying to get my diabetes and blood pressure under better control, and that seems to be going well. My diet is much better, but I still eat sweet things from time to time. I've got a friend who has horrible dumping from any sweets, but the most problems I've ever had with dumping was to get diarrhea for a couple hours and or to get sleepy. No sweating or shaking or pain, just tiredness and diarrhea. I tend to want to sleep after I eat sweets. So I've cut down on that a lot so I won't feel like that.

I will graduate from college this May, and I am definitely ready to take a break for a month or two. I have two plans for this summer and fall. I will either 1) take the whole summer off and go back to school for another certficate in the fall, or 2) take part of the summer off and get a job locally and not go back to school. I'm not sure which I am going to do yet. I need to have some break time first to see how things go. Either way is fine with me! :)
