Hi, Its Nanette, im so sory your feeling so much pain, trust me when I say that it does get better. My pain level went down at 2 1/2 weeks. it just all of a sudden left me, and i felt great!. Physically that is. See the best thing to do is try to do things u have always doen.. like sleeping in ur own bed.. it will hurt but u have to fight through the hurt to make yourself get better. Be positive, and yes you have to read the good and bad.. thats life.. its not always sunshine and rainbows. But trust me it does get better. Im 4 wks out and somedays are good, somedays are bad.. but its gets better day by day. I have learned to be so proud of my hubby and children, ive learned to appreciate them more. U have agreat family.. look at them and think that in afew months, u too will be feeling good and looking good. Good luck sweety, email me anytime u need to "talk" Nanette

11 month surgiversary
on July 5, 2009 5:18 am
Down 117 lbs. I'm in a size 12 pants and l-xl Juniors tops. I have some skin issues that need to be taen care of when I hit Mega millions, but other than that the weight loss now is very slow, about 2 lbs a month or so. I have been batteling the same four lbs for about 3 weeks. Other health issues not know in related to RNY or not (dr's cant figure it out)  have periphrial neuropathy in both legs, I have bladder leakage from a dropped bladder (cystocele) and I still have hair loss, even when I increase the protein shakes

Isnt it funny how when I first had this done those shakes were "the bomb" loved them, now 11 months later, I gag and can barley get them down. I have found that by adding a vanilla or non flavored one to my morning decaf helps.

Well almost one year out, so I will po9st again then :)

10 month surgiversary
on May 29, 2009 6:28 am
Today is 10 months out and I am down 111 lbs. The last two months have been really slow with the weight loss. I still have neuropathy of my legs, and I am taking extra vitamin B-d as they found I had NONE in my system, even with the daily vitamin regime. Lets hope its OK and I get some feeling back. This has been a long ride, I feel good, I am shopping in regular stores now and cant find a decent pair of underwear out there ..LOL  The last store I bought in was Lane Bryant size 14/16 and that was months ago, I really need some advice if anyone can share what they are using to hide all that extra skin.

Well that's all for this month

8 months out and 100 lbs gone :)

Finally I am down 100 lbs. I am feeling good except I now have neuropathy in both legs. They don't know if its a vitamin deficiency or my spine, so today I had an MRI and EEG and Monday is the blood work. I hope it will be something easy?

Well 6 months flew by. I am down 85 lbs, 15 this month. I am doing ok. I have added sunflower seeds to my diet, but am basically just eating the same things. I live on Cobb Salads with grilled chicken.

My Story

I am so glad I found this group. I have been overweight all my life, well, as far back as I can remember. I am 41 and have 2 teens. For the last 5 years I have been seeking Bariatric surgery. My problem is I kept jumping between the band and the bypass.

I worked in a hospital and say the good, the bad and the ugly of both procedures.  So I decided the RNY was the way to go for me for long term outcome benefits.
