Moving right along

May 18, 2010

33 weeks pregnant and moving right along. We had an appointment yesterday for an ultrasound. I was told if I was going to go full term that I would be having an 11-pound baby! Holly crap… I just assumed he would be inducing me, but he says the longer the baby “bakes in the oven” the better. O M G! I am planning to have this baby natural- no C-section and no epidural but that does not look very promising at this point. The thought is already making me burn and cry at the same time. The doc says he would much rather the baby be on the bigger side then too small. He is going to come out shaving already! That is one huge baby. My friend from work says it is because I am eating “too healthy.” YEA RIGHT! Hahah. He also said based on the measurements my baby is already at least 6 pounds. So that makes me feel a little better. I am carrying AT LEAST 6 pounds of baby in my belly RIGHT NOW. That means I can subtract 6 pounds from any weight I have to loose. Hahahahahhha. So I can say to myself I have gained 32 pounds during pregnancy minus 6 for sure because it’s not my fault! I just love my justification of things sometimes. Good thing I took some of the newborn clothes back- the 0 to 8 pound clothes I can kiss goodbye! I received some long sleeve onesies today that go up to 12 pounds. I think I may have to return those for a bigger size. I am getting so excited and hoping that the baby comes early. We still have some stuff to do like higher the mattress, clear out our garage, put up the valence in the baby’s room and get more organized but everything is coming through just fine. My oldest son has an appointment today to evaluate his medication for his ADD. For the summer, I want the dosage to be reduced next to nothing because he only takes it to focus not because he is hyper. I think he’s over medicated lately because he lost so much weight so that is a conversation the doctor and I are going to have this afternoon. The good news is that the teacher emailed me this past weekend and told me he has improved an entire letter grade in math and writing this semester. (Since he’s been on his medication.) I am very proud of him and his efforts.
