I was asked to do a pro's and con's post by someone so here goes....  (if I do not do it now I will not remember lol)

PRO'S....  medical/physical ones are ....my insides did not have to be rerouted , it is removable if need be , easier surgical procedure and recovery time , it's adjustable, I am....well was a volume eater not a binge eater but I ate large volumes so the restrictive quality helps me ALOT !, no malabsorption(SP?)  issues . OK.... other PRO'S....  I am shrinking !!!! I feel GREAT , I do not lay in bed and worry if I am gonna die in my sleep ,BP is tons better , my feet and legs do not swell anymore (well a little at TOM) I do not sweat profusely , I am starting to see curves ! , I do not get winded walking to my mailbox or from the car into the store or around the mall , I now take the stairs ,my hubby cannot keep his hands off me and I catch him looking all googley eyed at me now ;p . I could go on and on .It's one of the BEST things I have ever done!!!!

CON'S.... the liquid pre-diet almost killed me (way hard but SO worth it) , the dietary changes are hard to make like.... taking little bites and eating slowly are NOT easy lol, no carbonation , very little bread and pasta etc , it is a WLS that requires maintenance ie: fills so that might be an issue for some .Other CON's.... even though it is considered a slower wt loss surgery it happens fast in relation to other methods used so wrapping my head around the wt I have really lost is sometimes hard.I just do not see it some days !  It would not be something I would advise to a friend that wanted a quick ,easy fix cause it is not one.Nor would I advise it to binge eaters or bulimics b/c some of us do deal with vomitting til we get the eatting thing down and that might be hard for someone dealing with those issues. It often takes a few months after surgery to get your fills and get any kind of restricition at all much less good restriction .So you gotta be patient with it and stick it out .Lastly the number one thing no one told me upfront....the band is very FICKLE !!!! It is a mysterious creature . Some days I barely know it is there then all of a sudden....wham.... I am really tight one day !

I chose the band as my WLS of choice as an informed and educated person and it is still a learning process !  Hope I did not ramble too much and helped at least a little =)    Any questions ASK AWAY !!!! I am an open book!
