Surgeon Testimonial

Laurence K. Tanaka M.D.
When I first met Dr. Tanaka, he seemed very serious. Not much of a joker. But after seeing him while in the hospital I noticed that he does joke. I remember when I asked if I can go home he told me, \"Get the heck out of here, I am tired of seeing you!\" I knew that he had it in him all the time. LOL. He really cares about his patients and encourges to call him any hour of the day if your feeling sick or if you have any questions. He does address all the risks of surgery and even lets you ask question I took like 3 pages of questions and he answered them all. He has a great bed side manner and I would rate him a 10.

One Year Out and Feeling Great!
on April 24, 2009 7:31 pm
So its been 1 year on April 15th, 2009. I feel really great. People see me and call me skinny! It feels so good. At times I feel fat still. But I try to tell myself that I have gone a long way. Today I was looking at old pictures and I can't believe what a difference 100lbs makes. Its unbelievable. Well, I still want to loose 35 more pounds. But i am actually happy with where I am I just want to get rid of my stomach flab! Its horrible. Oh and my bat wings (underarms) I feel like I am able to fly away! HA HA! But overall I feel great and  I am alot more confident and I am loving life. Doctor says I am doing great and I am now taking some more vitamins. I feel like a drugie with all the pills I take. I will have to go back in 6 months to see the Doc. I am hoping to loose the 35lbs before I go see him. Crossing my fingers!

Almost going to be one year
on March 29, 2009 5:33 pm
How's everyone doing? Just thought I update since i haven't  been on here in a while.  Its going to be one year since my surgery on April 15th.  I am now down 175lbs. Although I have been pretty much the same weight for about a month or so. Not sure if thats good or bad. I am kinda scared that I won't loose any more. But I am still working at it. Nothing I eat makes me sick. So I guess its good in a way. I have had problems with my sugar dropping. I need to ask the doctor about that. I believe it has a lot to do with me not drinking my protein.  But its so nasty! lol. I don't know but I need to find something else that will taste better. Anyhow, I just wanted to update on my status. Everything is going good. I hope you all are doing great also....I will be updating again after my doctor visit on the 16th of April. Crossing my fingers I hope I don't get in trouble too much....lol

My Story

I have been overwieght since the 6th grade. I noticed one day while showering that my belly was growing. But I just ignored it! My parents never told me "don't eat that " or never had me on any special diets. I was very active as a child, i remember riding my bike, playing tag and running around just like any normal kid. Until one day I just didn't care anymore. As I got older I stoped playing out side and then started with the Video games. I never played sports or kept my self active like I used to! I always wanted to play sports but since my father was the only one working he couldn't afford health insurance or all the equipment to enroll in sports. My parents were also scared of me getting hurt. So I started to  get bigger and bigger. Which is my own fault! I don't blame anyone but my self for that!! It wasn't until I started high school that I started to look at my self more in the mirror and be totally ashamed of how I looked! I didn't want to dress up all I wore was jeans and a t-shirt. I looked more like a tom-boy! I didn't want to be seen by anyone so after school all I did was go home and lock my self in the house. I guess you can say I was a bit depressed! From time to time I woluld try diets and walk around the park. But then I wouild stop because I didn't loose wieght as fast as I wanted to. I woud do the dieting and walking off and on.  Then I would give up! So after graduation I ended up working. So I would go to work and come home. Everyday it was the same thing!! Up until now I decieded this is enough!! I need to do something else! So I talked with some friends that had the Gastric Bypass! They encouraged me to do it! So here I am tryng to get approved!! With gods will! I will get what I have been waiting for!! TO BE HEALTHY AND THINNER!!! Thats my story!!! Thanks for reading!! :)
