post op diet and first fill

Feb 07, 2010

I survived the corn dog! but now I realized that the diet part was on because I could eat whatever with some restriction meaning I would get full quicker but anything went down, I struggled with not drinking when I ate and yes I forgot alot. I noticed it was tighter in the morning not alot but it was a little. I lost four pounds and I would do good during the week and then screw up on the weekend. and back at it again on mon. I would gain the four pounds back on the weekend and loose it during the week, So I noticed that it worked when I used it. The doctor told me at my first visit that alot of ppl do not have restriction untill there first fill and so they gain some weight. ouch I did not want that so the struggle continued. I made it three weeks later to my first fill very nervous. I layed down on the bed and she felt around and it was a bit tender but not bad. she asked if I wanted numbsit and said it usually hurt worse than the needle for the fill. I opted against the numbsit. ohhh man it was nothing I barely felt it I really would have missed it if i was not paying attention. she said I already had four ccs and she put one more in. I guess they had four from surgery she said sometimes they leave some in there from surgery. so I now have 5 ccs which makes me nervous since most ppl are on there fourth or fifth fill bye 5ccs. oh well this is what I am giving so Im making the most of it. back to liquids for two days. ok between me and you no way. So I went to soft foods and it was just fine. soups not clear but soup.I was very happy my fill went well I gained only 1 pound back and I was eating soup. all was well. The next morning I proceeded to have buscuit and gravy, and I proceed to have it stuck and i proceeded to throw it up. and my hubby proceeded to throw up his breakfast as well ....welcome to my first fill. and my restriction, back to soup and not very much of it. I think this thing might work after all....this week I will start walking everyday to see if I can see better results I would love to get under two hundred. I do see that this is a slow progression and old habbits die hard, the most successful ppl are the ones who have self control and are able to change their whole lives in a short time. I hope I can be that determined, god knows thats why I had this band installed because I was sick of my old ways.
