Surgeon Testimonial

Hilario Juarez M.D.
I had first started out seeing a surgeon at the other Bridges center, but then kept gettin told different stories of requirements and also my appts weren't being made and entered into the system when I make them in person or by phone. Also when speaking to the surgeon, he didnt go over much info with me in the consult. So I was talkin with a friend and she recommended me to her surgeon. Also like my fiance sd, dont jump on the first surgeon ya find, its like buying a car, shop around before buying the one your comfortable with. So I decided to go see Dr Juarez and he was very informative even done an exam at the consult, was impressed with that. And the office staff seemed to have their business together and know what their doing more appropriately. So sadly to say but also gladly to say I have switched to Dr Juarez instead. He made me feel very comfortable. Thank you very much Dr Juarez and staff.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I have tried every diet under the sun, on my own of course not medically. I was on the hcg diet for over 15 months and was a total loss of time and money. When I finally stopped I was back to my very beginning weight I started with.

Well, I was on my way to the store yesterday, and while I was driving, an email came in on my phone, so I clicked on it and it read it off to me. It was from my patient advocate stating she heard from Cigna, and I have been approved. So I pulled over to read the message to make sure I heard that right, and yes I heard it right, I have been approved. So while sitting there I emailed her back and asked her what is the next step. She sd she sent it over to scheduling and they should be contacting me. Well nothing yet. So happy and excited, and nervous, and scared at the same time.

I will be getting the Gastric Bypass surgery instead. I had a long chat with my personal pcp and he didnt recommend getting th DS he sd cause too many complications, etc. He didnt recommend the lapband cause too slow rate, told him I wouldnt even consider the lapband, so that was out of the question. He sd he dont recommend the sleeve cause yes you do lose the weight with it just as well, but high statical rates showing a huge weight regain after about 3-5 yrs, he says after all that work and pain, I wouldnt want you to go thru this again. So his best recommendation was the gastric bypass. I spoke with him bout this cause like he said he knows me better than the surgeon does, cause has been treating me for the past 8 yrs or so and the surgeon has only seen me once. So I went with his recommendation as I have trust all these years and will continue to.
