Home from gall bladder surgery

Aug 22, 2009

I have my gall bladder removed on Thursday.  Went really well and I got to come home yesterday morning, late.  Had a little fever with a little bit of fluid in my light lung but it wasn't bad enough to keep me in the hospital.  Just had to use the breathing apparatus thing, still doing it.

North Hawaii Community Hospital was great.  Everyone there was so good and very attentive.  I even had 2 Reiki sessions, one prior to surgery and one later in the day of surgery.  Wow.  What a difference that made!  Dr. Park made 3 very quick appearances, not including the actual surgery,  but his handy-work was good.  He made pukas in my lower abdomen and they are so sore!  I'm much more sore than from the lap band.  But I'm already feeling so much better.  The pain in my upper traps is gone, although I still have discomfort in my neck, TMJ related.  Dr. Patrick said we'll have to go over all my depression meds because the gall bladder can effect how they work on me.  I took the zoloft on the night of the surgery but for the first time, it made my stomach hurt.  I was so leary of it, I didn't take it last night.  The only down side of the wls is the side effects of the anti-depressants.  But, then again, maybe I won't need them, or as much now.

I'm glad to be home and feeling better.
