The Start of a Beautiful Journey...

I'm reading my title and I know this "Beautiful" Journey is going to be a very hard one. I'm at the start of this and have my first doctor's appointment next week. I have an Umbilical Hernia and am praying that I can get the RNY done even though I have it. I was told at the seminar that it couldn't be repaired at the time of the RNY because it may become infected from the mesh they would have to use to fix the hernia so the Lap would be better for me. I've looked at this option and its just not for me. So we shall see if he feels like he can do the surgery and then we can repair the hernia later since its not bothering me at this time or if he can fix it with stitches. I'm hoping though by having it insurance will push the surgery through w/ no issues since I've still got to be approved.
