Saw Dr. Scott TODAY!

Mar 24, 2011

Had my appt with the surgeon today.  I was definately "armed" when I got in there.  But didn't need to be.  Dr. Scott answered all my questions and more!   But I am still a little unsure on which surgery.  He explained that because I don't have any of the other major comorbities (-sp) (other than the joint pain/arthritis in my knees  that any  that I choose will work for me.  He explained how he does each  (lap, vertical sleeve, and gastric bypass) one  laproscopically and that they all had less risks than my gall bladder surgery that I had 8 yrs ago.

GEEZ I was hoping to be able to narrow down today!   Well actually I am trying to find out more about the vertical sleeve (one that I haven't researched till my eyes fell out of my head).   I am getting scheduled for an endoscopy first then we will proceed.  Dr. Scott told me that there is a 50% chance I might have a hernia, so he wants to check for that before the surgery is scheduled so he can be sure to take care of that at the same time as the surgery.

All in all I can say I am very impressed with Dr. Scott and although he is definitely busy, he takes time to answer all your questions and is very thorough.   My wait time was minimal (about 5 min in the waiting room and about 15ish in the exam room) And the ladies in the office are wonderful too.  Awesome smiles to put you at ease.

Well back to the research!
