We have a Date

May 18, 2009

Well last night we met with Dr. Gens and the date was set for June 2nd.  Sam has to be there for 8 am so it will be like sleeping in, (if I can sleep) I am normally up at 3:30 - 4:00 am.  The dr. went over everything and answered all of our questions even from our son who is 14. He was a little anxious about his Dad dying and Dr. Gens was so great with him, explaining all of the problems that could happen and how they prevent them. He also put the numbers in perspective by compaing them to teen-age driver death rates. It was a awesome how comfortable I felt when I left.
The tears came, I am not sure why, I think it was just a relief to get a date. He has lost 102 lbs so far and now the tough part is to come.

Waiting

May 11, 2009

Well the insurance company has said yes and we are just waiting for the Dr's office to call
and make the appointment.  I am not sure who is more nervouse me or my husband.  The more
we go through this process the more I think I need to get this done as well.  But for now I just want
my husbands to be scheduled and be on the other side of this journey.

How do you deal with the waiting?  Also he only likes one protien shake and that is the chocolate.
I am hoping that will get him through the "Boot Camp" stage.
