Fasting, Exercise, Breathing, Pulmonology, & Sleep consult

Jul 15, 2010

Well I've been on the fast for over a week.  I've lost 3 pounds. I can't sleep,  I'm tired all the time, and I'm STARVING all the time, but at least the diet drinks are not bad.  I'm exercising a little more, but it still hurts a lot.  My need for blood pressure medication has decreased significantly, but my blood sugar, while much improved, is still too high at over 180 fasting.

Yesterday I had appointments with the Breathing lab and the pulmonologist about my asthma. Since the endocrinologist added Efredrine, and my PCP added Singulair, my asthma has been well in control.  I was already taking Symbicort and Ventolin.  I passed the breathing tests with flying colors and Dr. Lewis approved me for surgery.  I had a horrible asthma attack while under anesthesia once, so they wont operate unless my asthma is completely in control.

Today I went to the sleep consult to see if I needed a sleep study.  After a psychiatric and medical exam, they said I do, so it is scheduled for the 20th.

I have four appointments next week. Sleep Study, Support Group, Dietician, and Nurse Practicioner. The Dietician has already approved me for surgery, I just have to see her three months in a row to meet insurance requirements.
