I had my 2nd pre-op consult with my surgeon today and she has cleared me to have my paperwork submitted to my insurance company. She says that should happen by Wednesday or so. She has given me two tenative surgery dates, pending insurance approval July 12th!!!!There is a lot to do in the meantime, here's my list. Barring any complications I am almost there!!!
- Start pre-op liquid diet on Thursday, June 9th (4 weeks)
- Take one final nutrition group class to discuss eating after surgery.
- Go to the hospital presurgery testing area to have some lab tests completed
- Take a pre-op class with the bariatric unit at the hospital
- Tour the hospital, pre-register and take care of any billing issues.
- Meet with a the surgery team, it including the anestisologist. This team will determine if I need other test and talk about pain management.
- Meet with surgeon to go over what will happen the week of surgery, the day of and after. oh yeah, get my instructions for my bowel prep that is done 2 days before surgery.
