Starting my journey

12/28/09 - I had my first appointment with the surgeons office. It was a long wait to speak to the doc for about 5 minutes. But I got my actualy starting weight... which happend to be more than I was expecting....... 310.5 lbs!! and with a height of 5'6" that gives me a BMI of about 50.8. Which kinda of scared me a little.
Dr. K just went over my packet with me, and as I dont have many medical problems it was quick quick. He said at 22 with a BMI of 50 I am an excellect candidate for the surgery! no pregnancies till 2 years after the surgery (which is fine by me)... its about a 4 mont process (which was also fine because I was thinking either June or July anyway) and not much else was said. He seems like a very nice doctor and his staff was great.
I have another appointment with the nurse practitioner in 6 weeks and I should be hearing from the nutritionist within a week and the psychologist within 3 weeks.

I am very excited to have this all finally starting!!
