When I first began to research plastic surgeons, I was at a loss as to which doctor to use. I knew I had a hernia that had to be repaired and most plastic surgeons don’t do general surgery in addition to plastic surgery which meant another surgeon would have to be called in to repair my hernia. I didn’t want to do that due to the cost involved for an additional surgeon. Dr. Kent Hughes is certified in both general as well as plastic surgery and could do both. I read a lot about his expertise as a surgeon especially in body contouring which was very important to me after such a huge weight loss. I went in for my initial consultation and was very impressed with his down to earth attitude, yet he is very knowledgeable and professional. He made me feel very comfortable before and during the exam. I initially I went in for a full tummy tuck but Dr. Hughes suggested I have the lower body lift and my outer thighs lipo-suctioned all at the same time so I would have less “down time”. January 27, 2004 Dr. Hughes (and his PA, Rick) preformed the surgery in about 7 hours (shorter time than expected). I spent one night in a hotel like setting room in the hospital. I had very little pain and was standing up within a couple of hours after surgery. On September 21, 2004 I had minimal incision arm lift, and breast lift with saline implants. This surgery took approximately 6 hours and I went home the same day. Once again, Dr. Hughes and his staff were wonderful and I am very pleased with my results.
Dr. Hughes and Rick (his PA) are so much fun, I feel as though they have become my friends instead of my doctor and his staff. You get to know them all on a first name basis. You will love their humor and personalities. They genuinely care about their patients and treat you like a friend they have known forever. They hug me every time I go in for a check-up! His office staff is top of the line, so expect special treatment from them as well. You can’t go wrong with this team for any procedure you are considering. I will miss them so much once I am dismissed from his care, I may have to go see them occasionally!
After I receive all my before and after pictures I will be happy to share them with you upon request through email ([email protected]) When you decide to have plastic surgery don’t expect to have perfection. With massive weight loss you will have great improvements but you will not come out perfect, but the difference is remarkable. I still have loose skin in places but I look so much better than before. With clothes on I feel beautiful for the first time in my life. I wear my tops tucked in and I go braless when I go out dancing and wear a cute little sexy top with my jeans. Dr. Hughes has changed my life and to him I owe so much. Thank you Doc!

"My first impression of Dr. Capps is that he is very professional and knowledgable. He didn't try to persude me either way about making a decision. He said that it is a big decision and to think it through. That impressed me more than anything, that he seemed to care about me as a person. He explained every step throughly. He is an A+ doctor. UPDATE (10/29/02): I am now home from surgery and wanted to add comments about Dr. Capps. In my opinion, he is the best choice for anyone considering this surgery. I have been so blessed to have had him perform my surgery. Surgery was on 10/25 and I had open RNY, of course the first 2 days were painful, but not unbareable and I owe that to God & his guiding Dr. Capps hands to perform the best surgery available. "Dr. Quinn is a wonderful man. He actually helped me get my surgery scheduled. All the Baratric Treatment Center was waiting on was his comments on a Methacolin Challenge test I had done, and since Dr. Capps still had not called to get the info he wanted, Dr. Quinn called while I was in his office for a follow-up visit. If he hadn't called, it is not telling when they would have gotten around to setting my surgery up. He also wants to see me after I recover from my surgery. What a nice man, Thank you Dr. Quinn!"
