I am 28 years old, and I have been overweight all of my life. I do not know what it is like to be skinny. So, in February of this year, I decided I was going to do something about my weight. I hired a personal trainer, and began working out. It is now the beginning of November and I have not lost a pound. I am so frustrated! I mean I am much stronger, and I have been trying to diet along with my training, but I always seem to sabotage myself once I start having success. If I lose 10 to 20 lbs I get to where I celebrate. Then I feel bad about eating, so I eat some more. And it is just a cycle that I cannot break for some reason. I am so tired of being tired and overweight. I want to live a normal life where I can go hiking and do all the things you are supposed to do when your 28 years old.

I now weigh 370 pounds. That is a lot of weight to be carrying around. Once measure of success that I have had while weight training is I have become more tone. However, the pounds are still there. They say muscle weighs more than fat, so I am sure that being the same weight I have gained a lot of muscle while dropping some fat. Still, it is not enough. I want more. I want to be able to take my shirt off an run on a beach somewhere without everyone staring at me in a bad way, I want them to look at me in a good way. I want to be able to go running and not get winded jogging half a block. I want to know what it feels like to get on a roller coaster without worrying about whether I can fit in the seat. Mostly, I want more for my life.

That is why I am now looking at weight loss surgery. After all these years of failing at diets; and never keeping the weight off, I wonder if weight loss surgery is right for me. The one thing that I am looking into is the lap band surgery. Simply because it is less risky and seems like it wouldn't have a lot of pain with it. Hopefully, I can make the right choice. My sister was over 300 lbs and 5 ft 6 and she had the gastric bypass surgery. She has now lost over 150 pounds and it is great to see how much joy she has back in her life. Last summer, she got on a mechanical bull as did all of us, and she stayed on it the longest! She would have never been able to do that being at her previous weight.

I am in the beginning stages of looking into surgery. I am not sold on whether I will do it or not. I am in the investigative stage. A friend of mine referred me to this website in hopes of doing some research and finding out more about weight loss surgery. My health is deteriorating quickly for being so young. I have bad knees, cardiomyopothy, High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea, depression, and I am borderline diabetic. That is more reasons for me to concern myself with my weight, not just looking good.

If anyone has any advice for me, please message me and let me know your story. I want to know more about how I can drop this weight. If there is some way that I can do it on my own, I want to do that. If you suggest I do surgery, I want to hear from you about that as well. I want to know peoples stories that have had the lap band surgery. I also want to hear from people who have had the gastric bypass. Hopefully, I will meet people on here that will help me in making my decision. I really want to change my life for the better!

P.S. If your wondering why I put my username as a website, it is because I absolutely love the Ohio State Buckeyes. So, I made my own website about them. It is becoming pretty popular so check it out!
